Slow-Cooker Fall Favorites~Review & Giveaway!

It's the first day of Fall, and the weather here in southeast Ohio is cool, cloudy with a few rain showers, which is a perfect fall day for me!

It's also perfect for a recipe review of Gooseberry Patch's newest cookbook, Slow-Cooker Fall Favorites. Chock full of comfort food recipes!

In addition to the wonderful recipes you expect from a Gooseberry Patch cookbook, there are also  memories shared by Gooseberry Patch fans, in the first chapter, Autumn's in the Air. Other chapters include, Morning Frost on the Pumpkins, Tailgating with Family & Friends, Off to the Pumpkin Patch, Gather 'Round the Table and Sweet Treats Around the Bonfire.

My family loves soups & stews when the weather gets colder.
We especially enjoyed the Zuppa Pizzeria.

Racking leaves with my children, watching them jump in the piles, then filling those garbage bags that are decorated to look like jack-o-laterns with the leaves. We then use them to decorate our front yard with along with great looking gourds, corn stalk bundles and of course some real jack-o-laterns!!!! Then we go in have some hot cocoa and warm delicious soup that has been cooking in the slow cooker all day while we've been having fun.

Trick or Treat in the 50s was the best! Never afraid to go to any house or take any treat (really preferred getting homemade ones!)...innocent times long gone, for sure.

Anything outside in the fall. Love the colder weather and the bright colors. Indoors is finally cool enough for daily baking and canning. One can never have enough cookbooks to look through

I simply adore taking trips to the apple orchard and the pumpkin patch, but my favorite fall activity is most definitely decorating my home with charming little Halloween and Harvest touches. It just warms my heart and makes my surroundings such an enchanted place to be. I love fall!

Hiking and baking are my favorite things to do in the fall♡

Our favorite fall activity when we were kids was raking the leaves and jumping in them over and over again. However, we live in an area where it's pines and evergreens, so very little to rake. With my children we like to make soups and chills and even best of all - homemade apple pie and gingerbread. The house always smells delightful this time of year!
